Not a Replacement For Your Calls

When describing Lily Calls to people I’ll sometimes get the response, “won’t the carers just call them?” and the answer is yes, yes they should.

Lily was never meant as a replacement to your calls, it’s an addition! The initial motivation for Lily was just a simple reminder system, I wanted a way to remind my Nan to not forget about certain things each day. Adding this simple reminder system would mean we could talk about other topics as I’d already received the feedback from Lily. Constant — what felt like nagging — chats about medication and appointments took the fun out of the regular conversations! Lily has since evolved to have memory of previous conversations, an understanding of my Nan’s life/history, knowledge of the topics of conversation that make my Nan happy etc.

Some days, life just gets in the way — maybe you’re swamped, or out of signal for a while. On those days, you can schedule Lily to check in for you. She’ll make the call, and you can pick things up from there when you’re back.

I walk my Nan’s dog Rex on Monday’s and Saturday’s so I know I don’t need Lily to check in for me. Set the days Lily should call on

Nan likes the calls at a very specific time, don’t ask 😄!

So just to reiterate, please don’t use Lily Calls as a way for you to get out of calling your loved ones, use it to supplement your calls and make them more meaningful!
